National Day of Prayer, Friday 13th November The Evangelical Alliance has written this to churches in the UK:
“The coronavirus pandemic continues to radically affect our lives. But one thing that cannot be restricted is our freedom to pray to our loving Father in heaven. So we have called a UK day of prayer next Friday, 13 November, to bring our country before Him.
The UK is facing various lockdowns and restrictions and the situation is increasingly uncertain, yet our Father is unchanging. We have the amazing privilege to come before God and intercede for our country, and there is something truly special when we do that in unity. I do hope you and your church will join us as together we cry out to God next Friday. Please find out more about the UK day of prayer here, and share it as widely as you can.”
At the same time, the Archbishop of Canterbury encourages us to pray each day at 6, (not sure if that’s am or pm!) fasting on Thursdays throughout November. There are plenty of resources on the” prayer for the nation” website to help us pray.
Weekly prayer theme Following on from last week’s theme of ‘R’ from the word ‘Revival’ where we focused our prayers around rejoicing for the many blessings that we enjoy, from family and friends to all that God has done for us, this week the letter is “E” for extending our vision for our family, friends, colleagues and neighbours who don’t yet know Jesus personally – that we might have opportunities to speak of Him.
As we move through another Lockdown and with so much we can pray for, that we probably don’t get a chance to do so in Homegroups, we are running a more reflective prayer time on Sunday afternoons 4-5pm starting next Sunday, November 15th on Zoom. We’ll share the theme in next week’s notices and hope that you will join us.
Alpha course Our first Alpha session was a real answer to prayer. We would value your ongoing prayer as we move to meet on Tuesdays now to accommodate 3 more! We would particularly like a group to pray while we meet each week. We will share some prayer points each week. If you are willing to commit to this, please phone or email Andy. Thank you!
Live Sunday services at Fullbridge Given the new Lockdown measures, we are not able to meet live on Sundays. Please do keep in touch with one another during the week to encourage one another and assure each other that we are not forgotten.
Understand your Bible better – If you would like to do something interesting at 7.00 on Sunday evenings why not join us on Zoom for the “Understand your Bible Better” course. Speak to Simon, I am sure he will be happy to send you the Zoom link.
