”While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest and cold and heat and summer and winter and day and night shall not cease”. Genesis 8 v 22
Sunday Service Today Andy and Rachel Mugford will be leading our YouTube service and the speaker is Richard Harknett. The bible reading is Acts 13 vs 13-44.
Please continue to pray for:
Those people who have ongoing health problems and those who live on their own.
Also remember our government who are having to make very difficult decisions about our day to day lives.
Pray that a vaccine for Covid 19 will be available soon.
Virtual Coffee after the service This week it will be in individual home groups. Your group leader will send you the link.
Home Groups The Wednesday group and Thursday groups will meet for prayer and bible study via Zoom.
We plan to run a new course, starting with the initial 6 sessions, in early-mid October. Please pray about inviting friends, family or colleagues about joining us. We may be either online or physically together, depending on numbers. More info is on the Alpha website page, including a trailer film clip.
“Care for the Family” events online

Do check out the website: https://www.careforthefamily.org.uk/events/events-online.
More details were included in last week’s notices. Bookings are all online and free.
Rachel and Andy had a first attempt at a JC café at the church this week.
Rachel and Andy have been given the green light to go back into Plume – Mill Road Campus. It is really encouraging that the school are so keen to have them back. They will be focusing on Year 7 to start with. 2 of the other chaplains have had to step down for work reasons, though they hope that another couple will be coming in with them later in the term. They’d value prayer for the Monday morning sessions as they meet new students and seek to offer them support.

Operation Christmas Child 2020
Many things we were looking forward to in 2020 have been cancelled (from the Olympics to school graduation celebrations). Children around the world, especially those in contexts of poverty have struggled with isolation and not being with their friends. But Christmas isn’t cancelled (even though it is a long way off still) and together we can bring fresh joy, and hope of new life in Jesus to children through shoebox gifts.
Because of Covid-19 the shoebox campaign will have to follow strict guidance and plans are being made both in receiving countries and here at home:
The safety and health of children receiving Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts, our
volunteers, staff, and our ministry partners is our top priority.
At this time, Operation Christmas Child will continue to collect shoebox gifts during National Collection Week, 9-16 November 2020.
We are risk assessing our shoebox drop off locations and potential processing centres and
looking at ways social distancing can be maintained.
It is also possible to pack a Shoebox Online: www.shoeboxonline.org.uk. That way you can still join in and have fun choosing items to go into a shoebox and we will buy the gifts, pack and send shoeboxes for them.
