News for Sunday 29th

Welcome to our service.  The service leader and speaker this morning is Andy Mugford .  Please join us for tea and coffee in the back hall after the service.

Don’t forget that the all-age service next week  will be a baptismal service.  There will be tea and coffee before the service and afterwards there will be a bring-and- share lunch.

Tea and Coffee rota  Phil Rowden and Peter Lamb are responsible for tea and coffee today and next week it will be Rob Bennett and Rob Lamb.

A Prayer meeting is held in the upstairs youth room every Sunday morning before the service.  Everyone is invited to join us especially if you are involved in the service or with the children’s groups.

If you would like someone to pray with you after the service Andy and  Rachel will be available.

 Doreen and Phil Blowers  would appreciate your prayers as they lead the service at Maldon Baptist Church today. 

CAMEO  If you are free on Monday afternoon please join us at 2.00pm for this month’s CAMEO which is an informal time with a cuppa and cake!

Sports Quiz presented by Christians in Sport at Danbury Mission Saturday 4th February at 7.00pm   The evening is suitable for all who love sports quizzes.  Jacket potatoes and chilli will be provided please take your own drinks.  The cost is £5 – places should be bookd on line at  If you would like to watch the England v France rugby match Danbury Mission will be showing this on their big screen from 4.50pm.

 Art Evening on Saturday 11th February  from 7.00pm.  All the funds raised will be donated to The Kings Cross group who offer help and support to vulnerable women and girls.  For further details please see the poster on the notice board in the back hall.

11th March at BREC  Half Day seminar on Second Coming speak to Paul for further details.

Café Church at Fullbridge, Sunday 26th  February, 4-5pm    An informal service suitable for friends not used to church.  The theme will be “Christianity:  Irrelevant today…? More details to come.

The Church Weekend Away this year will be from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June at Vauxhall Farm Suffolk.  Further details will follow.

Home Groups The Friday group will be meeting at Ken and Ellen’s this week.  Details of the new groups should be known today.

Maldon Food pantry  In the front entrance hall there is a box for non-perishable items for the Maldon Food Pantry.

“Life Explored”     This is a new, Alpha-like course comprising of 7 informal evening sessions that include both short films and Bible interaction and is ideal for anyone new to what the Christian faith has to offer.  It is starting on Tuesday 31 January, 7:45pm, at Grapnells Barn – Richard and Sarah’s home.  Please speak to Andrew & Rachel or Richard & Sarah if you are interested in coming or have someone else you’d like to bring along.  A trailer for the course can we watched at

Children’s groups

On the first Sunday of the month we all stay together in Church. On the remaining Sundays the children join the first part of the service, then go to separate parts of the building for their activities.

We have three groups:

Mustard: an Early Years group, who meet upstairs.

Pepper and Mustard+  Infant and Junior groups, for up to secondary school age, who meet downstairs in the back hall.

Salt: a group for School Years 7 to 11, upstairs in the Youth Room on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
