How to read the Bible in a better way Starting on the 12th February Simon is running a course at his house to help people read the bible in a better way. It will be on Sunday evenings for 5 weeks from 7.00pm to 8.30pm. It will be an informal time with discussion and learning together by seeing the principles of how to read the Bible being applied to set passages. It is not for the clever but anyone who can read will benefit from it. If anyone is interested please speak to Simon.
“Life Explored” This is a new, Alpha-like course comprising of 7 informal evening sessions that include both short films and Bible interaction and is ideal for anyone new to what the Christian faith has to offer. Please speak to Andrew & Rachel or Richard & Sarah if you are interested in coming or have someone else you’d like to bring along. Fullbridge Prayer week, 25th January – 28th January The overall theme for the 4 sessions is “Deepening our first love”. There will be prayer times each day at 10am and 8pm for an hour – the morning session will be repeated in the evening.
Each session will be at the church apart from Friday morning – which will be at Paul and Lucy’s. As we seek God’s direction for us as a church in 4 key areas, we would ask that we all prioritise these prayer times as we come together to pray. Reading and reflecting on the following passages before the prayer times would be a helpful way to prepare.
Wednesday: Deepening our love for God through thanksgiving and repentance:
Philippians 4:6 and Psalm 103:1-5; Psalm 139 especially vs. 23-24
Thursday: Deepening our love for each other
Ephesians 4:30-32; Romans 12:9-21
Philippians 1: 27 and Ephesians 5:19-21; John 17: 20-23:
Friday: Deepening our love for serving
1 Samuel 3:7-11; Romans 12 : 1-8
Isaiah 6:8 and Philippians 2:1-11;
Saturday: Deepening our love for the lost
Matthew 9 :35-38; Ephesians 6: 10-20; Ephesians 5: 8-14

There will be provision for children during the 10-11am session on Saturday

The Sense” band at the Plume, January 30 – February 3 2017
The week is taking shape with lessons across both Mill Road and Fambridge Road campuses being planned for the week beginning January 30th 2017. The group will be taking part in RE, Music and Dance lessons. There will also be events at lunchtime and a concert on Thursday evening. This is a very exciting opportunity for the churches across Maldon to work with the school. There are 12 members in the music/dance group. They will all be involved in the school programme and, at the end of school each day, the team will debrief and plan for the next day. Churches are hosting them for a hot evening meal each evening – they will be at Fullbridge on the Monday.
On Thursday evening there is a concert at 7pm where there will be a clear invitation to follow Jesus. We need stewards to guide people in and out and also some to be available to talk and pray with young people who make a response. Please speak to Andy if you can help you will need to be available from 6:30pm.
Please pray for the team, led by Andy and Joy, as they prepare the lessons and assemblies. A follow-up is being planned for the young people who want to explore the Christian faith further. More information on the band can be found at:- http://www.yfcone.co.uk/touring-band.
