Home group questions
Have 1 Samuel chapter 25 open on your lap (it’s probably too long to read out loud)
- What bible passages encourage us not to be revengeful but rather to be forgiving?
- Give some personal examples or examples of others where the matter of personal offence was left with God?
- What could be the consequences when we give others what they deserve and what could be the consequences when we act with forgiveness?
- Think of an occasion when you benefited, like Abigail, from advice or where you acted like Abigail?
The London Community Gospel Choir and The BIG Sing Gospel Choir will be performing at a joint concert on Saturday 10th September 2016 at 7 pm at Chelmsford Cathedral. Southwold Beach Mission Very many thanks for your prayers over the last 2 weeks. We have had a good time and the weather has been great; over 110 children and teenager have been attending each day for the age-group activities; new parents have been attending a “Parentalk” parenting course led by Rachel and the other parent-outreach events. There has been clear evidence of spiritual progress in the children and adults that we have met again this year. The team from Fullbridge – Jack, Caitlin, Esme, Nathan and Hannah have been working full on with the children in their respective age groups. Caitlin and Esme extended their stay in order to help in the second week.
Please pray on for those who attended as they return home and hopefully link up with local churches if they are not already involved there.
Marriage Course coming this autumn! If you are interested in this course there is still time to enrol as the latest date is 4th September and not this weekend as announced last Sunday.
Abigail Mugford goes south-west; Hannah Mugford goes south
Abigail has just been appointed as the new “Assistant operations manager” at the Tubestation Church in Polzeath (http://www.tubestation.org ). She starts in early October. The church reaches out particularly to the surfing community in north Cornwall.
Hannah starts her first teaching post in a primary school in Chelsea – one who’s catchment serves a range of different families. She is teaching a Year 3 class.
Both Abigail and Hannah would appreciate prayer as they look for accommodation, a local church for Hannah and prepare to move out of Maldon.
We wish Hannah and Abigail God’s blessing as they start their new jobs.
Up date on Jean Marc from Ann and Terry As you may already be aware, Jean-Marc returned to France at the end of June to obtain extensive therapy in Paris. He has already improved with walking and with his speech and can now converse in full sentences but obviously in French! Due to the improvement it has been decided that he will remain in Paris to receive this therapy for at least a further year. We speak to him on a regular basis by Skype and he is very happy with the progress he is making in Paris.
You may also be interested to know that both Victoria and William (Jean-Marc’s children) have been amazed at the help the Fellowship has given to both Jean-Marc and Bernadette during this difficult time and are thankful.
Please continue to pray for J-M during his time in Paris, for his continuing improvement, for patience in being away from his children and being “looked after” by his mother. Also please pray for his continuing spiritual growth, It is intended that Terry will Skype regularly to pray with J-M as they are prayer partners and we are not yet sure if he will be able to attend a local Christian church.
Also We urgently need your help We are seeking people who can help us clean Jean-Marc’s house from top to bottom to prepare the house for letting. If you are able to help on Saturday 20th August from 10am for an hour or two we would be extremely grateful. You will need to bring along your favourite cleaning items. There will also be some outside work to do i.e. tidying up the garden but no lawn cutting as this has been done on a regular basis. Refreshments will be available (homemade cake always welcome to help the workers). The address is 10 Chichester Way, Maldon. Please let either Gilly Springett or Ann Frost know if you are able to help. Many thanks especially from Jean-Marc. The house is going to be let out and if you know of anyone looking for a house to rent please let us know.
Thank you to all those who have been praying for Richard and Sheila’s sister in law, Dea Little. She is improving on a daily basis and the staff at Broomfield have been amazed at how quickly she has recovered from a very serious illness. She still has a slight problem with her eyesight and hearing but hopefully these matters will improve as she regains her strength.
Also thank you to all those who have been praying for David and Janet Walters (Richard and Sheila’ neighbours.) David is feeling well at the moment. He has a further scan in 6 weeks time and if this is ok he will not need to see the consultant until December. David and Janet are very grateful for all your prayers.
