This week’s news

Welcome to this morning’s service which will be led by Ross Power.

Sunday morning prayer meeting A prayer meeting, to which all are invited, is held at 10:10 am. Do join us in the Youth room upstairs as we prepare for the service in this very important way.

Coffee rota Sheila and Richard Little are responsible for tea and coffee this morning and next week it will be Rob Bennett and Rob Lamb.

Prayer If you would like someone to pray with you after the service Paul Gymer and Barbara Diaper will be available.

Andy Mugford would be grateful for your prayers as he takes the service at Billericay Baptist Church this morning.

Calais refugee support A contact from Maldon URC is taking a van-lorry load of aid to refugees in Calais.  He was so moved when he saw the situation on the TV that he just grabbed what he could and headed for Calais. Since then he has linked up with another local organisation called Side by Side (refugees), driving backwards and forwards to Calais www.facebook.com/SidebySiderefugees/.

If you can help him out in any way it will be a great encouragement to him, and a good witness that the churches care, as he is not yet a believer.  Mark, the URC minister, has met him and commends what he is doing to all the Maldon churches.

What he requires is generally on the Facebook page, but you can always contact him through his email:  Chris.Murphy@velta.co.uk.  He is taking another lot of aid over to Calais at the end on the month.

Islam on our Doorstep training day, Wednesday 24 February

Counties are putting on a day’s training in Solihull. Andy and Rachel are attending and have some space in the car for others who are interested.  The event is free.  Please see the poster at church for more information.

Job Club If you would like to be on the rota as a volunteer to help with refreshments and be-friending people when the Job Club starts at Fullbridge on the 23rd February, please have a word with Andy Mugford. Also, please pray for referrals from CAP.  Posters and fliers are out and about in Maldon – we need people to respond  and register.”

We have three groups:

Mustard: an Early Years group, who meet upstairs.

Pepper and Mustard+  Infant and Junior groups, for up to secondary school age, who meet downstairs in the back hall.

Salt: a group for School Years 7 to 11, upstairs in the Youth Room on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
