This week’s news

Welcome to this morning’s communion service which will be led by Simon Quelch. Tea and coffee will be served after the service. There will be no children’s groups this morning. Next week our speaker will be Paul Gymer and the service will be led by Andy Mugford. As it is Christmas next weekend there will be no notices as I am having a week off! If you have any urgent prayer requests or information for the church please email or text it to me and I will pass it on. We welcome everyone to our Carol Service  this afternoon at 4.30pm. The speaker is Andy Mugford and the service leader is Michael Chambers. Would the children who are taking part please be at the church at 4.00pm in order to dress up etc. There will be refreshments after the service. Our Christmas Morning Service will be held at 10.30am and it is being organised by Ross and Bertie. Congratulations to Matt and Claire on the birth of Phoebe. We welcome her into the Fullbridge Family. Please pray for Matt, Claire, Miriam and Grace as they adjust to life with a new baby.

Sunday morning prayer meeting A prayer meeting, to which all are invited, is held at 10:10 am. Do join us in the Youth room upstairs as we prepare in this important way together

Coffee rota Richard and Shirley Hornett are responsible for coffees and teas today and next week it will be Simon and Judy Quelch.

Prayer If you would like someone to pray with you after the service Ross and Bertie Power will be available this week and next week Anne and Phil Reeve will be available for prayer.

New Year’s Day Valerie is organising a New Year’s Day walk. If you are interested in walking off some of the Christmas excesses please meet at the church at 10.30.

Phil and Doreen would appreciate your prayers as they take the service at Maldon Baptist Church this morning.

Mark Ambrose, the minister at Maldon URC, has a link through the URC toddler group who are organising a relief effort with a group called ‘Side by side’.  He has been moved to take a van over to Calais and deliver whatever help he can. What he is looking for is:-

  • Benylin and antiseptic style medication
  • Men’s clothes but only small and medium. (in good condition)
  • Blankets
  • Camping equipment of any sort.

As the colder weather comes in, refugees are going to be struggling.  Can you help?

Andrew Mugford will pass on donations for this trip to Mark.

Moving help needed If you are able to help with Hannah’s move to All Nations College on the 29th December please let Judy Quelch know.

Lachie and Ali Mather fly to Australia on Boxing Day. Please pray for a safe journey and that they will quickly settle into their new life in Melbourne Australia.  The Offering for Samaritan’s Purse at last week’s Town Carol Service amounted to £517.20.

Home Groups – there are no home groups this week.

Carol Singing thank you to everyone who helped at Embassy Court, Brewster House and the Fire Station.
Alternative Christmas Card A card has been put on the notice board in the back hall for anyone who would like to write their Christmas wishes to the fellowship. There will be a pot for donations. This money will be passed onto a charity in the New Year. In the past we have given it to Samaritan’s Purse and to the school that Bee and Ross are involved with for the purchase of books.
