This week’s news…

Welcome to this morning’s service our speaker today is Simon Quelch and the service leader is Andy Mugford. Tea and coffee will be served in the back hall after the service.

A prayer meeting, to which everyone is invited, is held every Sunday morning from approx 10.00 am -10.15 am in the upstairs room. We would encourage all who are taking part in the service and youth activities to attend.

Security Rota   Following the recent change of locks at church Simon Quelch has volunteered to be responsible for locking up on Sundays. Therefore the rota no longer applies.

Coffee rota Phil Rowden and Peter Lamb are responsible for teas and coffees today. Next week it will be Rob Lamb and Ali Mather.

 Prayer If you would like someone to pray with you after the service Richard Little and Barbara Diaper will be available. Reminder for Pepper and Mustard LeadersDon’t forget the meeting this coming Tuesday 7.30pm at Church! Please remember to bring your diaries and your ideas for September.        Toby and Amy’s Wedding The 1st August is fast approaching and both Toby and Amy would love you to join them on their special day at Danbury Mission at 2.00pm.

Wednesday walk There is no walk this week.  

There are still spaces if you would like to join us on Monday 20th July for a trip to Hyde Hall. There is no age restriction. If you are on school holiday or home from university and you are at a loose end, book a place with Andy and Rachel.   It is a bargain at £8 for coach fare and entry! Home Groups Shirley’s group will be meeting on Friday for fish and chips at St. George’s playing field, Heybridge Basin or Richard and Sheila’s if it is wet.

Read John 5 v 16-30

1.What is actually involved in honouring the Son as the Father in v23?  How will this show itself in our lives?

Jesus refers to himself as the Judge of humanity several times but how does this fit in with John 3 v 17?

Throughout the passage Jesus refers to himself as the “Son” but then in v 27 he describes himself as the “Son of Man”.  Why the change?

Jesus  used opposition as an opportunity to reveal more truth.  Can you think of an example in your own life or somebody else’s where this happened?
