“Leicester University’s Christian Union’s events week on the 2nd to 6th February The week went really well. Every day we had a strong 60-70 guests along to our lunch bars. Each day we looked at key objections to the Christian faith and the claims it makes on us, the world around us and who God is. We benefited from recent interest in the media about God’s existence and the question of suffering. Many of the guests asked good and progressive questions during our Q&A sessions. During the evenings we had a range of events; Dial-a-Dougnut where we answered the questions which the students had texted in (I spent a good few hours with two lads having some very good discussion and was able to share the Gospel with them.), two acoustic cafes which were well attended often by our increasingly regular guests and our week ended with a interview with Brad Thorn attended by 150 people. Brad Thorn spoke very well and clearly articulated the difference that Jesus makes in his life. Overall, the week went very well, thank you for your support and prayers which were much appreciated. Do continue to pray for us over the coming weeks as we follow up on the conversations we had and the questions asked. Thank you again, Jack Chambers.”

“Cameo” We are starting a new group on the 4th Monday of each month – 2.00 – 3:30pm at the church.  It’s aim is to attract adults who are around during the day to a social event.  It will provide an informal, social atmosphere with quizzes and presentations on a range of interest-based topics.  It will provide an opportunity to build relationships and, over time, to present the gospel.  It is not just for those who are retired – all ages are welcome.  There will no facilities to cater for young children.

Please take a flier if you know someone who might be interested.

Men at Fullbridge You are invited to come for a full English breakfast at “The Deckhouse”, in Osea View Caravan Park of the Goldhanger Road (http://www.osealeisure.com/the-deckhouse-bar-restaurant.html) – Saturday 21st February, 8:30-10am – all in for £6-50.  After turning off Goldhanger Road, take the right off Osea Road – the bollards-gate will be open and head for the sea wall and the carpark is beside the cafe-restaurant.

It’s a chance to chat and pray over breakfast, which you don’t have to make or wash up, about reaching out to blokes.  Not all the events need be men-exclusive!

Please let me know if you can attend so that I can confirm numbers with the restaurant.
