Welcome to this morning’s service Today’s speaker is Eric Blowes and the service leader is Michael Chambers. Tea and coffee will be served in the back hall after the service.
A prayer meeting, to which everyone is invited, is held every Sunday morning from approx 10.00 am -10.15 am in the upstairs room. We would encourage all who are taking part in the service and youth activities to attend.
Prayer If you would like to pray with someone after the service Philip and Anne Reeve will be available.
Prayer requestsPlease continue to pray for Paul’s dad who is due to have an operation tomorrow, Monday 19th January and for Ann Frost’s dad. Also for John Murphy’s mum who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Doreen and Phil Blowers would be grateful for your prayers as they are leading worship at Howe Green URC today (Sunday 18th January).
Future plans We are thinking about arranging a monthly afternoon meeting (with tea and cakes!) for anyone who is at home during the day. This would be on the fourth Monday and include an invitation to those people who come to Meet on Monday and any friends or neighbours you would like to invite. If you would like to be involved in the planning of these meetings or just want to come along to see what we are thinking of doing you are invited to join us at Richard and Sheila’s home on Monday 26th January at 2.30pm.
Date for your diary Next Sunday, 25th January 5.00 pm report from Simon and Judy with a bring and share tea afterwards.
Alpha course We intend to run an Alpha course starting, subject to participants, on Tuesday 20 Jan at the church at 7.30 (no meal for this first one). Please let Andy or Rachel know if you know of anyone who is interested.
Meet and Sew We meet every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 1.30-3.30. We either sew or knit items for charities one week and the other week we make our own projects or learn a new craft. You may have some knitting or sewing skills, albeit rusty, but this group is an opportunity to perhaps learn a new skill, join in with making items for charity and enjoy a social time too. If you are interested please speak to Sarah Hammond.

1.In today’s modern society does the teaching of Colossians 3:18-21 still apply? If YES Why? If NO Why?
2.Why do so many Christian family’s struggle/fall apart, and how can we help to promote Christian principles and support them when things start to go wrong?
3.Why do so many Children from Christian families fall away from following the Lord? What more can be done to help prevent this either through their family and or their church family?
4.List 5 reasons for marriage and 5 principles of a successful/happy marriage.
5.In today’s society where defined roles of Husband & Wife have been clouded by so called equality, legislation and opportunities, either at work or within the church family (ie equal pay and job opportunities) is there a strong case for the roles for husband and wife male/female to be reversed, and if so do we think it is healthy and God Honouring?
6.Who do we think God places the greatest responsibility upon for a God honouring marriage and family, Husband or Wife? Explain your answer.

Mustard: an Early Years group, downstairs in the Back Hall.
Pepper: a Junior group, for up to secondary school age, upstairs in the Green Room.
Salt: a group for School Years 7 to 11, upstairs in the Youth Room on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
