This weeks notices

Welcome to this morning’s service Our speaker today is Alan McCormick who will also be giving us a report on his work with Mission Direct. The service leader is Richard Little. Our service was supposed to include the dedication of baby Elowen but unfortunately she has chickenpox and therefore the dedication has been postponed to a later date.

A prayer meeting, to which everyone is invited, is held every Sunday morning from approx 10.00 am -10.15 am in the upstairs room. We would encourage all who are taking part in the service and youth activities to attend. Prayer If you would like someone to pray with you after the service Richard and Sheila Little will be available.

Junior Solid Report as promised!

We set off for Upminster in the sort of rain that brought Noah to mind, but by the time we arrived it had pretty much stopped! After a quick introduction in the Big Top by Ed Jones our first activity was ‘Sport’.  Mitchell and Zach immediately threw themselves enthusiastically into a football match, and the girls proved that they are multi talented in a variety of mad sports.

Next up was ‘It’s a knock out’ with bouncy castles, a parachute, and a very wet game of volley ball.

After lunch, with the sun now scorching, came our Stubbers Adventure Centre activities. Zach, Jemima and Rebecca were on the water in kayaks, looking very confident and cool.

While Sarah, Mitchell and Gavin valiantly ran up and down a hill again and again, doing something called ‘grass sledging’.

Next stop, ice creams!! Then onto ‘Jump In’, which surprisingly did not involve jumping or getting wet. The children were, however, encouraged to think through some ideas around living for Jesus: what that really means, how to keep going when things get tough and how to talk about Jesus with their friends.

Response ‘zones’ in the tent catered for: thinkers, artists, writers, makers and talkers. Finally, back in the Big Top, came the band Taste, cool songs, lots of energetic moves and Ed bringing all the ideas of the day together.

Junior Solid was action packed, with lots of fun and opportunities to think about living for Jesus: what this means and how to.   Already looking forward to next year!

Hannah Muford Please pray for safety for Hannah Mugford who is in South Korea at the moment.

On the first Sunday of the month we all stay together in Church. On the remaining Sundays the children join the first part of the service, then go to separate parts of the building for their activities. We have three groups:

Mustard: an Early Years group, with crèche, downstairs in the Back Hall.

Pepper: a Junior group, for up to secondary school age, upstairs in the Green Room.

Salt: a group for School Years 7 to 11, upstairs in the Youth Room on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
