This week’s notices

Welcome to this morning’s service. The service leader is Terry Frost and we welcome Phil Page as our speaker. Tea and coffee will be served in the back hall after the service.

A prayer meeting, to which everyone is invited, is held every Sunday morning from approx 10.00 am -10.15 am in the upstairs room. We would encourage all who are taking part in the service and youth activities to attend.

 Prayer If you would like someone to pray with you after the service Rachel and Andy Mugford will be available.

Security Rota Richard Little is responsible for locking up today and next week Jeremy Rowden will be responsible.

This afternoon at 4.30 Ross and Bertie will be telling us about their recent trip to the Vinjeru School in Zambia. There will be cakes and a cuppa afterwards.

Magazine rack There is new issue of Tear Times (the Tear Fund magazine) in the rack.

The Home groups will meet at the following homes.

Jeremy and Philippa’s group will be meeting at Kate and Gavin’s.

Anne and Phil’s group will be meeting at Ross and Bertie’s.

Home Group questions

1.What are the similarities and differences between the descriptions of the event where Jesus calms the waves in each of the three gospel records? See Matthew 14:22-33, Mark 6:45-51 and John 6:16:21.

2.Given what had happened before this event, how do you think that Jesus and the disciples felt that evening?

  1. In which situations that you are likely to face in the next few weeks, can you take comfort from the fact that Jesus is in control over the natural world?

Notes from the recent deacons’ meeting

1.We would like to welcome Rob Bennett as the Fellowship’s new deacon. Please pray for Rob as he takes on this new role.

2. An up-dated list of responsibilities will be put onto the notice board in the back hall.

3.  We need more volunteers to come forward to assist with the running of the Fellowship.

Weekend Away 27th – 29th JuneDon’t forget the church weekend away. There is now a list on the white board in the back hall for you to put your names on if you plan to be at the weekend away.  Also, if you have a spare tent which you do not mind someone else using, please let Val Lamb know. Cakes and biscuits are required for the weekend. Please speak to Val if you can provide some. Come for the day – If you are not able to attend the whole weekend you will be very welcome to pop up to Red House Farm for the day.
