Welcome to this morning’s service The service leader is Jack Chambers and we welcome Simon Quelch as our speaker. Tea and coffee will be served in the back hall after the service.
Next Sunday 4th May will be a baptism service. If you are interested in being baptised next Sunday it is not too late please have a word with one of the elders.
After the service, there will be a fellowship lunch when we are expecting friends and relatives of those being baptised to join us. Therefore we will need a bit more food than usual and would ask you to keep this in mind when thinking about what to bring next Sunday.
A prayer meeting, to which everyone is invited, is held every Sunday morning from approx 10.00 am -10.15 am in the upstairs room. We would encourage all who are taking part in the service and youth activities to attend.
Prayer If you would like someone to pray with you after the service Paul Gymer and Michael Chambers will be available.
Security Rota Andy Mugford is responsible for locking up today and next week Shirley’s group and the Friday group will be responsible.
How to interpret the Bible – the last in Simon’s interesting series will be this evening at 7.00. His subject will be “How to interpret Revelation, something I think we have all wondered about at some time or another. Come along and hear what Simon has to say on this subject. Also, it will be your final chance to see Simon and Judy and say goodbye before they go back to Brazil next week.
Chairs As we are growing as a church we are finding more things that need to be more organised otherwise they just fall to the same people or only get done at the last minute.
Yes, you’ve guessed, another rota! This one is for setting the chairs out for the service. At present there is no rota and the responsibility falls on one or two people.
If you are willing and able to help out please speak to Julian Gore or Richard Reynolds. We are one body in Christ and we need all the body to work well together so please step forward if you can. Thank You.
On Thursday 7th May we are recommencing the combined communion and prayer meeting at the church.
Magazine Rack There is a new issue of Barnabas Aid in the rack.

Home group questions
Read John 6 vs. 1-15.
1. Look at vs. 3-5. What needs do you sense the Lord is presenting to us in Maldon that he wants to meet through us?
2. Why do you think Philip and Andrew did not look to Jesus to meet the need after having seen the Lord do so many miracles before? What reasons do we have for not looking to the Lord when presented with opportunities to meet the needs He identifies?
3.Do you have an experience about the Lord using you or others to meet a need when you or they felt unable to do so? Explain how the Lord worked through you or others and how this pointed to the greatness of God
4. Could we have been guilty of believing in Jesus but then taking him and his message into our hands in a way that caused the Lord to withdraw as in vs. 14-15? (I realise that this is a difficult question but it is worth thinking about carefully).
Weekend Away 27th – 29th June Don’t forget the church weekend away. There is now a list on the white board in the back hall for you to put your names on if you plan to be at the weekend away.
