Welcome to this morning’s family service. The speaker is Ed Jones and the service leader is Andy Mugford. Tea and coffee will be served in the back hall before the service.
Phil and Anne/Philippa and Jeremy’s groups will be responsible for setting up and clearing away.
Ben Heasman – Richard and Sarah are pleased to announce Ben’s engagement last weekend to his girlfriend Laura. We send our congratulations to them from Fullbridge.
Please continue to pray for Ralph. For the energy to cope with the very busy and demanding time in the Philippines.
Prayer for OCC – Please pray for all the shoeboxes which have been packed and are on their way to Swaziland. Pray for the safe arrival of the boxes and for the children who will be receiving them.
Carols at Embassy Court We have been asked to sing carols at Embassy Court on Monday 9th December at 7:30pm. It is not a performance but a chance for the residents to sing well-known carols along with us. If you would like to join us, please come along on the evening to sing, eat mince pies and chat to the lovely people at Embassy Court. We are usually finished by 9pm. For any more details, please speak to Barbara or Debbie.
Carol Service – If you would like to be part of a singing group to sing an item at the Carol Service, please speak to Debbie. You do not need to be able to read music and will not be asked to sing a solo!
Street Pastors A report from David on his stint with the Street Pastors last Saturday. “Thankfully the evening was trouble free and we had lots of interesting conversations. We have the opportunity to speak to more and more homeless and it is great that McDonald’s give us free coffee and burgers for them. Most of them are not actually allowed in McDonald’s as it is a place where a lot of the fighting happens, probably because it is where the clubbers go late on and, by that time, they have consumed a lot of alcohol.” Please continue to pray for David and the pastors and the great job they do in city centres while the rest of us are tucked up in bed.
There will be a practice tomorrow evening (Mon 2 Dec), from 7.30- 8.30 for anyone who would like to play or sing carols in preparation for singing outside Fullbridge Church on December 12th. Please do come and join us – the more the merrier!
The Town Carol Service will be held at 4.00 pm on Sunday 15th at the URC on Market Hill.
New Year’s Eve party 8pm – midnight.
Ross and Bertie – Last Sunday Ross and Bertie told us about their future plans as follows: • We have recently handed over the “baton” of Essex Christian Camps after many years. • We have been praying for some time regarding a new direction of service. • The Vinjeru School Trust (which is the Trust for a new school in Zambia and with which Ross’ brother David and niece are involved) needed a new Chairperson for the Trustees as David has moved to Zambia. • Vinjeru is an exciting new project close to our hearts because of our love for young people, family ties and a long held interest in Zambia. • We therefore feel that, as from 1st January 2014, the time has come for us to step aside from our leadership role at Fullbridge to enable us to step fully into the work of the Vinjeru Trust. • We will continue to be members of Fullbridge and will help wherever we can. We would value the support and prayers of the family at Fullbridge.
