This weeks notices

Welcome to this morning’s family service. The service will be taken by the Swaziland Team and others. Tea and coffee will be served in the back hall before the service.

After the service there will be a bring and share lunch when Ross and Berties/Shirley’s groups will be responsible for setting up and clearing away.

Home groups There will be no home groups this week as there will be the monthly combined communion and prayer meeting at the church at 7.45. This month Philip and Anne’s group will be responsible for leading this.

Can you help? Julian has hired a van for his and Dominic’s move next Saturday. He plans to start at and hopes to do the move in a couple of trips. If you can help please let Julian know.

Prayer request for the Vinjeru School Please could you pray for the Vinjeru School Trust in Zambia where Ross’s niece, Karolyn, and husband, Martin are building a secondary school in an area which has none. Things are hotting up ready for the January start and the building is nearing completion. The school is being advertised in the local area and applications from students are being received. There is a problem, however, with the electricity supply for which they would value your prayers. Please pray for: • Sufficient money to come in so the work can be completed in time for the start in January • The right number of fee paying students and children being sponsored to make the term start viable. • Karolyn and Martin as they continue to trust in the one who can supply ALL their needs.

OCC Praise the Lord we have a warehouse which is in Galliford Road, off the Causeway in Maldon. There is plenty of parking but we are not sure about the heating yet so come wrapped up warm. Our boxes are going to Swaziland again this year and we are delighted about this, having been there and seen the great work Samaritan’s Purse is doing and the impact our shoeboxes have. We are changing the way we do the training this year – there will be just one session on Tuesday 5th November from 7pm – 8.30pm. New volunteers will be given training by Louise while our ‘old hands’ will have the opportunity to look around the warehouse, to fill out the 2013 volunteer form and catch up with old friends. This is our 10th anniversary of OCC in Maldon – how time flies! We do hope to see you all again during the 2013 campaign at the warehouse. Saturdays from 9th November: 10.00am – 1.00pm 2.00pm – 5.00pm Wednesdays from 13th November 6.00pm – 9.00pm We have decided not to do a session on the Tuesday morning to start with as often we don’t have enough boxes early in the week to keep everyone occupied.

Prayer for OCC – Please remember in your prayers this week all those connected with running warehouses all over the Country. Pray that God will give them the extra strength required during this time and particularly pray for Ralph and Gilly who do so much work for our local team.
