Welcome to this morning’s service. The speaker and service leader today is Phil Blowers. If anyone has volunteered, tea and coffee will be served in the back hall after the service.
A prayer meeting, to which everyone is invited, is held every Sunday morning from 10.00 am-10.15 am in the upstairs room. We would encourage all who are taking part in the service and youth activities to attend.
Security Rota Phil Blowers will be responsible for locking up today and next week Helen Chambers will be responsible

A report on the Food Pantry: Thank you to all churches who have contributed. Up to the end of April, a total of 1969 food parcels have been distributed, a total of 5400 individuals. There is discussion about involvement with CAP (Christians against Poverty), to provide debt counseling in conjunction with the Food Pantry. There is a new clientele each week of 20%. There has been some negative media coverage recently regarding the ‘undeserving poor’, but all new clients must first be vetted by the Citizens’ Advice Bureau; not all applicants are accepted. All clients have to be re-referred after eleven visits. A similar initiative has started in Burnham-on-Crouch, based at the Baptist Church.
